Honoring Native Heritage in Southeastern Minnesota

Founded to address the unique needs of Native American families and allies in our region, the Native American Center of Southeastern Minnesota stands as a beacon for cultural education, community resources, and heritage celebration.

Our mission is to preserve, honor, and share Native heritage through educational programs, youth outreach, and inclusive events that strengthen cultural identity and build bridges within the broader community.

We believe in the power of cultural education, fostering respect, understanding, and pride in Native traditions while providing essential resources to support families and individuals.

Led by a dedicated team with deep community roots, our Center is committed to empowering the next generation, supporting elders, and creating a welcoming space for all who seek connection and knowledge.

Our Story and Impact

The Native American Center of Southeastern Minnesota was founded in response to the need for a dedicated space where Indigenous families and allies could connect, learn, and celebrate their heritage. Established by Native leaders and advocates, the center began as a grassroots initiative focused on fostering cultural pride and supporting the unique needs of Native communities in the region.

Over the years, the center has become a cornerstone for cultural education and community engagement, hosting elder storytelling events, youth outreach programs, and heritage celebrations. Each milestone—such as the launch of our annual culture fair and the introduction of language revitalization workshops—reflects our commitment to preserving and sharing the traditions of Native peoples.

Our work is deeply rooted in the values of respect, inclusivity, and cultural stewardship. Through collaborative efforts with local schools, organizations, and families, we strive to ensure that the rich history and contemporary contributions of Indigenous peoples remain vibrant and accessible throughout Southeastern Minnesota.
